ChemCognition LLC was founded in 2015 as a company designed to provide innovative and sustainable solutions in the markets served. Built on many years of experience of its principals and associates in chemistry based new product and market development, the company provides professional consulting services to the industry. By teaming up with a number of specialized firms, we have created a network that can provide the knowhow and the necessary tools to implement total solutions to innovative endeavors.  We are 51% woman owned.

Principals

Claudio Manissero - President and cofounder

Claudio Manissero is an entrepreneurial-minded senior executive with significant experience in market and product development in a variety of markets with emphasis on construction related products, chemicals, environment, mining and oilfield products and technologies based on lithium, peroxides and magnesium chemistries. He had consistent success in identifying, building, growing and improving profitability, performance and value through value added, specialty chemicals propositions. He has a combined 20+ years experience in the environment, mining and oilfield industries, and 22+ in the construction industry. He holds 11 patents related to these technologies. He holds a BS Degree from Duke University and MS Degree in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry from Marshall University.

Before cofounding ChemCognition LLC, he was President of Premier Magnesia Construction Products Group where he developed new magnesium based technologies for improving durability and sustainability of concrete.  He also headed development and launch of novel magnesium cement technologies as concrete replacements and as binders for a wide variety of sustainable construction products. As Market Development Manager at FMC Corporation he managed market development, technical and sales efforts for a wide range of lithium based products, both specialty and commercial products, and technical offerings with emphasis on construction products, pool and spa, absorption and HVAC, pharmaceutical, environment, oilfield and mining markets. Developed line of products for construction market that included concrete and mortar admixtures, sealers and protective coatings for concrete and construction products..He also managed development of specialty peroxygen products, including a FDA/EPA registered new class of environmentally friendly sanitizers and biocides, and new technologies for bioremediation, mining and oilfield applications.

David Stokes - President, Durable Concrete LLC

David Stokes is a MS Chemist with significant experience in product development, materials investigation, and specification development for concrete.  He is considered a concrete ASR (Alakli-Silica Reactivity) Subject Matter Expert.  

He founded Durable Concrete LLC in 2013 as a company focused on concrete durability.  He is a consultant in the area and conducts technical testing and evaluations with emphasis on concrete ASR technology and in magnesium cements.  Before Durable Concrete, he was Concrete Technology Manager at FMC Lithium  for 19 years where he developed use of lithium compounds for control of ASR, and was with Delaware DOT for 10 years as Chief Chemist supervising the Cement, Asphalt and Chemical Laboratories.  He was active with the SHRP program  on ASR, and following FHWA and AASHTO committees that implemented the technology. He is an active member of ACI, ASTM and the ACI SDC.

Antonino Italiano - Principal Desamanera s.P.A., Italy

Entrepeneur with experience and skills in the field of additive manufacturing, finishing and superficial characterizations made with craftsmanship and exclusive materials. Since 1995 deals with Technical Management, Production, R&D in the field of dry-construction systems, thermo-acoustic insulation and fire protection. Desamanera is an innovative start-up incorporated in December 2014 with headquarters in Italy. They operate in the field of additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing. Thanks to the skills of their

Team, they have developed various high quality products that, through craft techniques and processes, are applied to 3D printing making the final product unique and exclusive. They have developed and supply the largest 3D printers in the world for construction applications.

The company is constantly engaged in research and development both in house and through collaborations with universities, public institutes and private companies. They believe that “Made in Italy” still represents a value for young talents and creative people around the world.

Sharlyn Hester-Manissero - CEO and Cofounder

Sharlyn Hester-Manissero is an entrepreneurial-minded businesswoman with extensive experience in HR in a hospital setting, and excellent skills in professional writing and editing of written documents. In her position as CEO of ChemCognition LLC she is responsible for accounting, scheduling and editing of reports and website.  She is active in a number of local charities.
